Information about accessibility tools and resources contained within the Resnick Library

Accessibility

SUNY Delhi's Resnick Library is dedicated to the principle of equal opportunity in education, research, and services. The Resnick Library demonstrates this commitment through providing collections, services, and facilities that are accessible to all users.

To request further assistance or accommodation, please contact a staff member in person at the library circulation desk or by phone or email. Special accommodation requests that are not addressed below may be directed to the Access and Equity Office at (607) 746-4744.

Services

Locating or Reaching Library Materials

Library staff members will assist with locating or reaching shelved library materials. You can provide the location information of your items to the staff member at the circulation desk and a staff person will retrieve the items for you; if you need help locating the items you are interested in the staff person can help with that as well. If you have a large number of items that need to be retrieved, the staff person will pull several items to get you started from your list; the remaining materials will be pulled within 24 hours (during weekdays) and held for you.

Platforms

The Library relies on a number of vendor-hosted software systems to provide resources to our users and makes a good-faith effort to make sure that they remain accessible to all users. Accessibility statements are provided by the vendors, and reviewed by the campus.

  • Brightspace is the provider for the campus learning management system
  • Ex Libris provides Delhi's library catalog and discovery layer

Assistive Technology

All workstations in the library have Microsoft software which allows users to utilize Microsoft Word Speech Dictation. This speech to text option is enabled from the menu banner. Students can check out a microphone headset from the Library's circulation desk if needed.

Assistive Technology Available in the Resnick Academic Achievement Center:
  • Livescribe Smart Pen Training
  • Smartphone Applications
  • Voice Dream Reader
  • Dragon Naturally Speaking
  • Zoom Text
