Online Encyclopedias

Our online encyclopedias are a good way to get some general information about a topic. It's a smaller collection than the e-books above, so they may not have information about every artist or artwork (unless it's quite famous), so try searching for general topics like "art therapy," "memorials," or the history of the time period that's relevant to your artwork.

WorldCat

Search for an item in libraries near you:
WorldCat.org >>

If you don't live anywhere near Delhi, it wouldn't make sense for you to search for print books in the campus library. This tool allows you to search for books in libraries near you. Enter a simple search, then click on the title of any result. Scroll down and look under "Find a copy in the library." There should be a box for "Enter your location:" where you can put your local ZIP code. Then the system will show you libraries near you that have a given book.

If you live near any SUNY campus, you can visit their library and ask about borrowing materials through the SUNY Open Access policy. Students, faculty, and staff at any SUNY institution should be allowed to borrow materials from any other SUNY library. The "enter your location" feature can also help you determine whether a book you want is available in your local public library system.
